15133 (62" x 34")
A spectacular Antique American Stained Glass Scenic Window. In its original frame the Window measures 62” x 34”. The Window is heavily plated on both front and back, in places there are 3 layers, perhaps more. The Window is in excellent condition with a crack or two, but it is extremely dirty, with much infiltration between layers. The glass is quite dense requiring strong light but very very nice throughout. In all of the pictures, lots of coloration is lost due to the use of very bright lights and the clarity lost due to dirt.
The rhyme is from Shakespeares ‘Winters tale’, Act4, Scene 3:
“Jog on, jog on, the foot-path way,
And merrily hent the stile-a
A merry heart goes all the day
Your sad tires in a mile-a”
